Long before Bob the Builder became a household name, there was Rick Kuemin, a talented repairman making waves in the appliance industry.

After three decades of getting his hands dirty and evolving into the go-to repairman for service companies, he hung up his toolbelt to become Director of Training for the Marcone Service Association. Today, he is one of the most notable and sought-after trainers in the appliance industry.

Since 2011, Rick has hosted 110 training sessions a year, attracting more than 2,000 newcomers and experienced technicians. When it comes to educating, Rick doesn’t stick to the books: His magnetic personality and ability to go beyond the manufacturer’s guidelines are what attract technicians to soak up his expertise.

Like a true handyman, Rick has tips and tricks up his sleeve that he has obtained throughout his career, and he is more than happy to share it with his trainees. He constantly updates his syllabus based on student feedback to provide the most relevant and up-to-date information, giving his students a competitive edge in the world of appliance repair.

His impact as a mentor doesn’t stop there. Rick is committed to shaping the next generation of technicians, actively participating in the nationwide SkillsUSA program. This initiative aims to enhance technical skills among teens and young adults.

Rick travels to schools nationwide to deliver presentations and donate appliances for participants to learn on. His goal is to teach technical proficiency, industry leadership and exceptional customer service skills to the next generations of technicians.

Rick’s expertise, engaging teaching style and commitment to the appliance repair field have built a loyal following of technicians drawn to his knowledge and charisma. His list of supporters will continue to grow as he has no intention of leaving his passion as a trainer any time soon. He finds joy in his career and looks forward to working with new technicians day in and day out.

He wouldn’t have it any other way.
